A seascape photographer's paradise
Stunning coastal scenery
Along the Cantabrian Coast we will travel to find lovely scenery to shoot especially charming seaside towns like San Vicente de la Barquera, Castro Urdiales, Comillas (with its famous Gaudí mansion, the “Capricho”), Suances, Noja, Santoña.
Incredible sea stacks and cliffs
During our coastal photo tour we will shoot a wide variety of scenery that is as diverse as it is surprising. From impressive cliffs and seastacks to the most unexpected beaches, from picturesque villages to the highest and most beautiful mountains of the Cantabrian coast.
Wild seascapes
This region is situated along the Bay of Biscay, facing the wild Atlantic Sea. As such, Cantabria’s rugged coastline is constantly battered by the huge Atlantic waves.
There are number great locations where you can safely capture some huge waves as they crash against the rocky outcrops and protruding ledges backed by craggy cliffs.
Mountainous interior
A little inland we can find the Picos de Europa National Park, the first Spanish national park, founded in 1918 when it was known as Montana de Covadonga National Park; its name was changed in 1995. The park’s high mountains provide magnificent scenery for landscape photography.
For much of the year we can see snow on the highest peaks of this mountain system, making this landscape a backdrop for much of our photographic stops. We will also go deep into the mountains and visit the impressive forests, rivers and valleys of this area of the National Park.
