Description

The beauty of the Pyrenees and its majestic wilderness await you.

The Pyrenees are the mountains that form the natural barrier between France and Spain, as well as between the Iberian Peninsula and the rest of Europe. Known as Pyrénées in French, they are one of the most recognisable mountains in Europe and one of the most outstanding mountain ranges in the world. The Pyrenees are located in southwestern Europe and the name of the mountains seems to come from the name of Pirene, a princess who in Greek mythology was loved by Hercules. Over the centuries, the Pyrenees have exerted an important influence on the culture of the surrounding populations, not only in their histories but also in their activities. It is a mountain range about 491 kilometres long between France, Spain and Andorra. It is actually made up of two chains running parallel from east to west from the northern Mediterranean Sea to the Bay of Biscay. The system is practically rectilinear.

The Spanish Pyrenees, which extend into Catalonia, Navarre, Aragon and the Basque Country. The range is divided physiographically into 3 sections: eastern, central and western. The highest peaks are concentrated in the central section, while in the eastern Pyrenees the average elevation is significantly moderate until in the easternmost part the mountains drop sharply. The entire range is home to more than 50 peaks above 3,000 metres, the highest of which is the Aneto peak at 3,404 metres. It is followed by the Posets peak, with an altitude of 3,375 metres, and Mount Perdido, with an altitude of 3,355 metres.

Lots of high peaks and beautiful deep valleys are part of this natural museum full of iconic landscapes, so as its rich fauna plays an important role in adding value to the scenery.

This photo adventure will take us to some of the most incredible spots of central western and central Pyrenees, particularly we will focus mainly in the Ordesa and Monte Perdido National Park and around. This particular area is home to more than 1400 species of plants, 153 species of birds and 49 species of mammals. In short, a real paradise for lovers of nature and the most superb landscape.
